We work with local communities on the frontlines of conservation.

Humans decide the fate of the Amazon. We understand that equitable and successful conservation cannot be done without collaboration with local communities - who are both most vulnerable and whose decisions can have greatest consequences for protecting biodiversity.

Our community work is to (1) educate and empower communities whose territories safeguard vast amounts of biodiversity; (2) amplify the voices of communities who work to protect or restore biodiversity and indigenous sovereignty; and (3) facilitate cultural conservation and medical, ecological, and economic solutions through the documentation of traditional knowledge which is rapidly going extinct.

Community Education & Support

We collaborate with indigenous communities to facilitate knowledge sharing between older and younger generations and conserve traditional ecological knowledge (TEK).

We support our indigenous allies with events, activities, and published materials that amplify their voices and raise awareness about their struggles.

Preserving Traditional Knowledge

We work with indigenous communities to help conserve traditional knowledge, integral to cultural resiliency, conservation, and future outcomes of Amazonia.

Why become an ARCC member?

We created ARCC with a vision for harnessing the collective passion of many individuals to drive tangible change. With support from our members, we reduce our dependence on government or academic grants for funding conservation initiatives.
